The Occupational English Test (OET) is an international English language test that assesses the language and communication skills of healthcare professionals who seek to register and practise in an English-speaking environment.
It provides a valid and reliable assessment of all four language skills – listening, reading, writing and speaking – with an emphasis on communication in health professional settings.
OET tests international health practitioners in the following 12 professions: Dentistry, Dietetics, Medicine, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Optometry, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Radiography, Speech Pathology and Veterinary Science.

What to expect on test day. Find out what time to arrive, what you need to bring with you and how long the test will take to complete.
You must register online for your OET. Online registration opens 7 weeks prior to the test date. Bookings close 3 weeks before the scheduled test.
Results are available online approximately 16 days after the test. Results are mailed within 5 days of the online publication of results.
