Who recognises PTE Academic?
PTE Academic is recognised globally for academic entrance by over 1,700 institutions and over 3,000 programs. PTE Academic is accepted by all universities in Australia and New Zealand, 98% of universities in the United Kingdom and a large number of institutions in Canada and the USA.
PTE Academic is recognised by Australia’s Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) for all visa categories including skilled migration. PTE Academic is also accepted in Australia by a growing number of employers and professional associations.
How do I register for a PTE Academic test?
Register online at pearsonpte.com/book/. You must first register for a Pearson account, the account will be approved within 24 hours. Once your account is created, you can schedule your test at pearsonpte.com/book/.
How do I check test dates and session availability?
You can check PTE Academic test dates and session availability at pearsonpte.com/book/ under ‘Availability’.
Can I book over the counter or by telephone with a Navitas English Test Centre?
No, Navitas English Test Centre only administers the test, you need to enrol with Pearson using their online booking system pearsonpte.com/book
How much does the PTE Academic cost?
The PTE Academic test costs $330.00 If you book your test within 48 hours of your test date, the test fee will be $412.50 (inclusive of a late fee).
I didn’t get the score I need, how do I reschedule?
If you did not receive the score you need, you can schedule another test on the Pearson website. Please note that you cannot register for another test until you have received the score for your previous test.

Is PTE Academic recognised by Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP)?

What time should I arrive at the test venue?
You should arrive approximately 30 minutes prior to the start of your test.
What can I use as ID for my test?
Navitas English Test Centre only accepts your original passport as ID.
Can I resit one module / element?
No
Can I take a break during the test?
You may take a 10 minute break between Part 2: Reading and Part 3: Listening, if you wish to.
During your break you are not allowed to access your locker or to leave the test area.
What if I am sick on the test day?
If you are ill on the test day and unable to sit the test, please contact Pearson as soon as possible. Pearson will offer transfers to another test session free of charge in some circumstances.

What if I have not received my results?
Your results will typically be available within five business days of your test date. When your results are ready, you will receive an email notification from Pearson telling you how to view your score via your Pearson web account. If for any reason there is a delay in your results, Pearson will contact you directly.

I have received my score but have not received my certificate. When will I receive my certificate?
Pearson does not issue paper certificates or paper score reports for PTE Academic. You can send your score to your chosen institution(s) and government bodies via your Pearson web account. Only scores assigned in this way are considered to be valid.
When will I get my test results?
PTE Academic results are typically available within 5 business days and candidates can schedule tests up to 24 hours in advance.
Typically, students are able to schedule, take and send their PTE Academic scores to institutions, all within 1 week.
